Nokia is a household brand for phones and it’s praised for it’s durability and build quality. The new Nokia 6 continues this legacy with a full metal body and a Gorilla Glass display which will handle the daily abuses. So here are the top 5 things you should do when you get the Nokia
1. Install Google Play.
Like any phone from China this phone doesn’t have Google Play installed but it is essential for most people specially for the Apps that we use everyday. You can manually download both Google Play Services and the Google Play App here. (http://xiaomitips.com/download/google-installer-app/)
After downloading make sure that you enable ‘Unknown Sources’ in your phones security settings.
2. Disable Bloatware.
The Nokia 6 has several apps pre-installed that you won’t need. To disable them all you need to do is to go to settings > application manager > choose an app > tap on disable. Do note that not all apps can be disabled but after disabling several ones that you won’t use you will get a slight increase in your phone’s performance and battery life.
3. Secure your phone.
A new phone has no protection and anyone can access all your data just by looking in your phone. That’s why after getting the Nokia 6 make sure to install a password/pin and input several fingerprints for faster access. Also it’s better if you’ll be using your phone’s smart lock feature which automatically unlocks your phone when you’re in a certain place or if it’s connected to WiFi or Bluetooth.
4. Download your favorite launcher.
The stock launcher of the Nokia 6 is great by itself but it might lack features that you need. Like for me my favorite launcher is the Google Launcher which has predictive app selection, can view Google Cards by a single swipe and has voice controls where you just say “Okay Google” and it will automatically answer any question or any command you throw at it.
5. Expand your storage.
The Nokia 6 already has 64gigs of storage but you can’t use all 64 since the OS takes up space and if you have several games you will surely run out of media storage soon. Good thing the Nokia 6 has expandable storage and is USB OTG Compatible which allows you to plug in any USB device including your hard drive to move your media content. A high capacity micro SD card will work wonders too since you can download movies straight to your phone like what the new Netflix app does.
