CNN Philippines is set to launch a culinary travel show with renowned chef Margarita Forés.
Margarita, who was named Asia’s Best Female Chef last year, continues her streak as she will be starring on the upcoming show.
Entitled “Harvest with Margarita Forés,” the 30-minute program will feature the key destinations in the Philippines and the unique ingredients they are known for.
Forés will also create deluxe dishes based on the native ingredients available on place she sojourned.
On February 6, CNN Philippines invited our team to taste Forés’ special dishes. We were intrigued by these pangmayaman dish and asked ourselves, “Could she turn simple ingredients into a luxurious-type one?”
Our uncertainty dissolved when they served the appetizer to us—Warm Soft-Boiled Organic Salad. It was a combination of kangkong, crisped ham, Parmesan Cheese, mustard sauce, and soft-boiled egg.
The fish course was Risotto Con Crema di Scampi—rice cooked in cream with Bulacan River Prawn.
Then, they served the entrée which was the Chicken Veronique, which was composed of organic chicken breast, grapes, champagne cream, and truffle potato mash.
The ingredients were basic yet the idea is mind blowing. As a chef’s son, I haven’t tasted these kinds of toothsome dishes since I was a kid. Mind you, these were just samples or “patikims.”
“Harvest with Margarita Forés” is a 4-part series that will reveal the unequaled stories beyond the most-loved ingredients that can be found in the Philippines.
Evenings will never be the same again as the show will leave viewers with a new appreciation for Filipino flavors. The award-winning chef is also excited about the launch of her program.
“Harvest with Margarita Forés” will premiere on February 18 at 7:00 pm on CNN Philippines Free TV Channel 9. Catch the acclaimed chef as she roams the country in the name of food and learn how to make a luxurious-type Filipino dish in just a snap.
