Five months after leaving the Kapamilya network, Kris Aquino is still looking for a possibility to host a TV show on GMA Network this year.
In an interview with PEP.ph, APT Entertainment’s CEO Tony Tuviera revealed what they discussed with the Queen of All Media.
Tuviera said, “[Kris] texted me, she wanted to sit down.
“I didn’t know anything what we would talk about. Sinama ko lang yung anak ko, si Mike [Tuviera]. She said, ‘I want to get into digital. I think the future really is digital.’
“’Tapos sabi niya, ‘I want to be there first.’ So, sabi namin, ‘Okay.’
“Then, she said, ‘It’s about time that we start to own also what I’m doing.’
“Kasi, sa digital nga naman, siya ‘yong ganun.
“Then, she said, I can help you with some of the sponsors. Ganun lang nagsimula.”
A month after their meeting, Aquino hinted that she would start taping for a new show. Thus, people speculated that it would be a TV show produced by APT Entertainment.
In addition, many believe she would replace the afternoon series “Calle Siete,” which was about to end at that time.
However, the plan never materialized. According to APT Entertainment’s CEO, they really wanted to put Aquino on the timeslot prior to “Eat… Bulaga!”
Tuviera also revealed that his group is still clueless on how they would bring Aquino back on television.
“Right now kasi, hindi pa namin malaman kung paano siya ibabalik,” he said.
“Paano kaya kung ibabalik siya? Kasi, a lot of people are really looking for her.”
The CEO emphasized that they did not want to give Kris a show with the same format as her previous programs in ABS-CBN.
“Kaso baka mamaya, kung ibinalik mo siya sa the same thing that’s showing before, ang hirap naman. Siguro iba naman,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tuviera said his group has been planning a specific concept for Aquino’s new show for her return on television.
He also clarified that there is still no concrete agreement between APT Entertainment and Aquino. Tuviera reminded that APT’s tie up with Aquino is for her digital ventures only.
“Actually, wala pa rin naman kaming pirmahan sa management.
“Eventually, sabi namin, kung magkakasundo, that’s the only time. But we should draw the line,” he ended.
Will Kris Aquino reclaim her crown as the Queen of All Media—if she is not visible on television for almost a year now?
