Vice Ganda and Coco Martin’s “The Super Parental Guardians” has already earned ₱590 million as of January 3, 2017. The film is currently on its fifth week in cinemas.
Following the success of last year’s “Beauty and the Bestie,” Coco and Vice star as Arci and Paco, clashing personalities who both want to take care of the children of Paco’s late sister Sarah (Matet de Leon). Upon the recommendation of one his friends, Paco seeks help from Arci as he moves in to raise the children, played by Onyok Pineda and Awra Briguela.
“The Super Parental Guardians” currently holds the biggest opening day gross for a Filipino film with ₱75 million, and was the only film last year to cross the ₱500 million threshold.
Coco Martin wrote on Instagram: “Maraming maraming salamat po!!!”
Though the film did not make it as one of the eight entries at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2016), “The Super Parental Guardians” remained in cinemas for the holidays and the moviegoers still chose to watch the movie despite new movies being offered in cinemas.
