Enrique Gil was spotted at the Miss Universe national gift auction at the Conrad Hotel on January 23. Gil was present at the event without his rumoured girlfriend Liza Soberano.
Interviewed by ABS-CBN News, Gil shared his thoughts on why Soberano could be the next Miss Universe.
Although Gil supports the Philippine representative, Maxine Medina, for the pageant, he said: “Ang pinaka-type ko pa rin, my love, Liza Soberano. She’s going to be the next Miss Universe, I’m telling you right now.”
The Kapamilya actor believes Soberano has the qualities to be a future Miss Universe and he will definitely support the actress if she decides to join the pageant.
“I will bet all my money in the world for her to join and she’s gonna win Miss Universe because she’s like the sweetest little girl, no pretensions. Whatever she says on the stage is what she really is,” he said.
But whether Sobernao joins the pageant or not, Gil said “[Liza Soberano] is my Miss Universe.”
Soberano was included in a British movie critic’s list of “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2015.”
She was placed sixth in TC Candler’s annual ranking, behind Golshifteh Farahani, “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson, British fashion model Jourdan Dunn, Hollywood actress Gal Gadot, and After School’s Nana.
The 65th Miss Universe will be held at Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, with live telecast on ABS-CBN, GMA, and TV5.
