Staying true to its pursuit of accurate, timely and relevant news, CNN Philippines is set to launch an addition to its roster of Newsroom programs with Newsroom Ngayon, anchored by Senior Correspondent Ruth Cabal.
Newsroom Ngayon hopes to reach a wider audience on the latest news and information in the Philippines and around the world as the show will be in the Filipino language.
“We hope to connect with more Filipinos — tell their stories and engage with them through Newsroom Ngayon. The additional news program is part of our overall strategy to make sure we are delivering the news as they happen” says Armie Jarin-Bennett, President of CNN Philippines / Nine Media Corporation.
Newsroom Ngayon is part of the network’s programming expansion in 2017 to provide stories that are relevant, timely, interesting and impactful to audiences in the country. Newsroom Ngayon is slated to premiere on February 6, taking up the daily 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. slot from Monday to Friday.
Newsroom Ngayon takes the place of public service-oriented Serbisyo All Access, which will continue as a special segment within the news program. CNN Philippines’ Senior Correspondent Ruth Cabal will take on the Tagalog news program as its lead anchor. The veteran journalist joined CNN Philippines on September 2016, with 17 years of media experience under her belt.
