10. Heart Evangelista
Transferring to GMA was considered an excelent decision for Heart Evanglista. After being “on and off” the scene for three year, Evangelista finally found her new home.
However, in every new chapter, arises a new problem. According to some reports, her former manager Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, wife of Gary Valenciano, was upset of her decision. The former manager claimed that she felt degraded by Evangelista’s move.
Moving on, Evangelista made a lot of projects in GMA Network and she is now considered one of the network’s prime stars.
9. Jolina Magdangal
Before Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes, there was a teen idol whose name is Jolina. In late 90s and early 2000s, Jolina Magdangal achieved a huge success in her career —having blockbuster films, commercials, multi-platinum albums, and regular TV shows.
Who would have thought that the successful Jolina Magdangal would risk her career in order to explore something new? In 2002, Jolina decided to leave her mother network to transfer to its rival GMA, which was dominating the Philippine television little by little back then.
However, her fame vanished instantly to thin air after she became a Kapuso. Although she did a lot of projects in her new-found network, the “Starstuck” alumni prevented her to regain her fame. She remained a Kapuso for twelve years before she went back to ABS-CBN in 2014.
Nonetheless, her grand comeback to Kapamilya network proves that she was the teenage girl Jolina who used to love by Filipinos. She was a regular host of the morning show “Magandang Buhay” with Karla Estrada and Melai Cantiveros. The show is a daily hit, making lots of trending topics over the internet almost every day!
