Star Cinema’s “The Super Parental Guardians” starring Vice Ganda and Coco Martin has set another record in the local box office.
After beating AlDub’s domestic opening day record set by “My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore,” the Vice Ganda-Coco Martin starrer was able to beat their own record set on last year’s MMFF entry “Beauty and the Bestie” with ₱529 million.
Just before the opening of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2016) on Christmas Day, “The Super Parental Guardians” has already reached ₱500 million mark and still showing on over 70 cinemas nationwide. Star Cinema is still not releasing the exact ticket sales figure but it’s said that the movie already surpassed “Beauty and the Bestie’s” final gross as of this writing.
“The Super Parental Guardians” made headlines after it was excluded from this year’s MMFF, forcing Star Cinema to release it last November 30, three weeks before the start of the film festival.
Congratulations Team “The Super Parental Guardians”!
