Just this morning, a “TV Patrol” news report about an 8 year old rape victim have spread like wildfire when reuploaded on Facebook by a netizen with username Boy Hugot and captioned it like he’s really sure of what he have seen on the video.
Another blog Manila Livewire even wrote about it as if they’re really sure. The article says, “We verified the video of a news about an 8 year old rape victim. It appears what is spreading online is real. We find the original video at ABSCBN’s website. Watch the video and notice around 0:31 seconds, you will see the the victim’s ghost sitting. This video was uploaded on YouTube and seen on TVPatrol last October 6.”
Unfortunately, it’s not. According to ABS-CBN News, “The mysterious figure is not the ghost of the 8-year old rape victim, but is actually a witness to the grisly crime. “
Instead of making stories out of your wild imagination, why not just pray and hope that this won’t happen again. Instead of helping the family of the victim, this will surely add to their pain. Please be considerate and sensitive especially to those mourning.
