Kapamilya star Jessy Mendiola just took home the Best Asia Pacific Star Award at the at the 2016 Asia Pacific Actors Network (APAN) Star Awards in South Korea.
“I am so happy to be standing here in front of you, and I am greatly honored to be the Filipina recipient of Best Asia Pacific Star Award. Tonight is a celebration of culture exchange and opening up of new opportunities in Asia,” Mendiola said in her speech.
Jessy won the award along with other Asian stars Song Joong Ki, Kim Hee Sun, Thanayong Wongtrakul, Joe Taslim, and Narimiya Hiroki
On Instagram, Jessy proudly shared the award to her followers: “Thank you MBC and to the great people of APAN Star Awards for giving me this recognition. I used to dream about getting an award when I was a little girl. Who would’ve thought that I would receive one from an international prestigious award- giving body. It’s such an honor to represent the Philippines. I still can’t believe it. Haaay, God. YOU.ARE.AMAZING. ❤️❤️❤️ #APANStarAwards”
Prior the awards night, Jessy joined several other artists in a hand-printing activity. “First time to do this hand print thingy. Kala ko maiiwan kamay ko eh,” she said.
Aside from the award, it’s also a win to have photos taken with Choi Jin-woong, Shin Dong-yup, Honey Lee, Chae Jung-an and “Descendants of the Sun” lead actor Song Joong-ki.

APAN 2016 award show, which was hosted by Shin Dong Yup and Honey Lee, selected the winners after reviewing around 63 dramas that aired between September 2015 and September 2016.
