Kapatid stars are slowly jumping to the major networks, ABS-CBN and GMA Network, since TV5 stopped doing TV shows for their talents earlier this year. First was Vin Abrenica then Ritz Azul and then Chanel Morales on ABS-CBN, and just last week, Mark Neumann guested in GMA Network’s “Karelasyon.”
The latest Kapamilya recruit is Sophie Albert, the TV5’s “Artista Academy” Grand Winner opposite Vin Abrenica in 2012.
According to Leo Bukas’s article on PUSH, it was Sophie herself with her manager Manny Valera, asked the TV5 management to release the “Artista Academy” alumna. Until now, she has not yet received her total prize from winning the Kapatid talent search. “Alangan namang I’ll lie. Pero I said naman from the beginning na I know TV 5 tried their best and I appreciate and am very thankful for… kasi kung wala naman yung Artista Academy and wala yung mga experiences ko with TV5, I wouldn’t be here now. So I will always be grateful and thankful to TV5,” she said.
Just last week, Sophie signed an exclusive contract with Regal Films and she’s expected to do eight movies with them.
Now as part of ABS-CBN and as a former Star Magic artist, “It’s my dream to be part of ABS. Yung mom ko kasi pina-stop ako noon. Sobrang laki ng away namin nung nag-start ako sa ABS, so yon, I had to stop. And then, yung pagbalik ko sa TV5, patakas din lang yon. Ngayon naman, happy na siya, wala na siyang magawa.”
Sophie also has set expectations on her sort of comeback in ABS-CBN. “I’m just positive now na sana… wala naman akong expectations, pero I just hope na ma-exercise ko yung acting, kasi I really like to act, it’s my passion. And sana mabigyan ako ng chance na umarte kasi yon lang naman yung gusto kong gawin,” she said.
