“MMK” beating “Magpakailanman” and Kapamilya’s newest reality talent competition “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” fairing well on its debut.
Based on the latest AGB Nielsen Urban Luzon survey from September 8 – 11, 2016, “MMK” again proved its dominance as it beats rival Kapuso drama anthology “Magpakailanman”. On Saturday September 10, “MMK” which featured Philip Salvador and Jerome Ponce scored a ratings of 22.7%, 2.3% higher than “Magpakailanman’s” 20.4%. This is the first time since July 17 that “MMK” has defeated the Mel Tiangco hosted drama program.
“Pepito Manaloto” remains the Saturday primetime leader with 23.9% while “Eat Bulaga!” continues to dominate daytime ratings with 20.1%.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s newest reality talent search “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” fared well on its debut episodes. Hosted by Billy Crawford with judges Aga Muhlach, Sandara Park, Vice Ganda and Yeng Constantino, their pilot last Saturday September 10, “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” gathered 21.0% to captured Saturday primetime’s 3rd place alongside “24 Oras Weekend”.
On Sunday September 11, the franchise reality show climbed even more to the number 2 spot of Sunday primetime again with 21.0% just 2.5% short from Sunday leader “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” with 23.5%. Can “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” follow the success of “The Voice Kids 3” in the ratings? That remains to be seen. “Sunday Pinasaya” on the other hand stayed at the top of Sunday daytime rankings with 19.8%
