It looks like GMA Network is already set for the launch of their first ever digital television service hopefully before the year ends. What the network only needs now is a better telecommunications partner to deliver its content.
In an article published by Inquirer, GMA chair and CEO Felipe Gozon revealed that he has already talked and still talking to the leading telecommunication networks in the Philippines during the company’s second quarter earnings briefing. “We have been talking with them, and we are still talking. So I am hoping this will end. We cannot forever be talking with each other,” said Gozon.
The Kapuso boss also talked about the importance of having a telco partner. “It’s important that we should have a telco partner,” he said. “The telcos have the highways, we have the cars and buses, in other words, content. So we have to marry the two.”

In May last year, Gozon announced that GMA Network will be producing dongles for its shift to digital, instead of set-top boxes, which rival ABS-CBN is adopting for its own migration from analog.
