ABS-CBN FM radio station MOR 101.9 For Life once again champions Original Pinoy Music (OPM) as it stages its annual “MOR Pinoy Music Awards” this Sunday (Aug 7) at the Kia Theater.
Now on its third year, the “MOR Pinoy Music Awards” honors the best OPM artists that truly made a mark in 2015 and declares the winners based on the combined votes from MOR listeners, MOR Awards Committee, OPM Board members, and select OPM artists.
Watch as the MOR 101.9 For Life DJ’s take center stage to lead the fun and excitement. There will also be special appearances and performances from Erik Santos, Yeng Constantino, Daryl Ong, Jason Dy, Bugoy Drilon, Rayver Cruz, Kaye Cal, Morissette Amon, Jona, Zeus Collins, and many more.
Competing for the Song of the Year Award are Morissette Amon (“Di Mapaliwanag”), Thryo Alfaro at Yumi Lacsamana (“Triangulo”), JK Labajo (“Para Sa’Yo”), and Kaye Cal (“Isang Araw”), while Darren Espanto (“Darren”), JK Labajo (“JK”), Silent Sanctuary (“Langit.Luha”), James Reid (“Reid Alert”) and various artists for “Phil Pop 2015” compete for the Album of the Year Award.
JK, Darren, and James battle it out in the Male Artist of the Year category, while Morissette, Kaye, and James’ loveteam Nadine Lustre face off in the Female Artist of the Year category.
Meanwhile, who among Bailey May, Daryl Ong, Matteo Guidicelli, JK and Darren will take home the Best New Artist award?
Aside from the five aforementioned categories, “MOR Pinoy Music Awards” will also determine winners for Best Collaboration of the Year, LSS Hit of the Year, Best Revival of the Year and, Regional Song of the Year.
Singer-songwriter Rey Valera, on the other hand, will be given the OPM Achievement Award for his remarkable contributions to the Philippine music industry.
“MOR Pinoy Music Awards” is only one of the ways ABS-CBN helps promote OPM to Filipinos. Aside from this, ABS-CBN also annually stages the songwriting competition “Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs.” The Kapamilya network was also successful in producing weekly programs such as “I Love OPM” and “We Love OPM” that aimed to increase viewers’ appreciation of OPM.
