August 12 could be the last time Marian Rivera’s morning show on GMA Network will ever air on television.
According to the PEP article published today, talk show host Marian Rivera confirmed that her “‘Yan Ang Morning” will air its finale episode on August 12. “Oo, kasi ang talagang pinirmahan ko sa GMA, one season lang talaga. Sabi nila, ‘Extend na natin hanggang three weeks, paabutin na natin hanggang birthday mo.’ Siyempre ako rin, gusto ko rin mag-focus kay Zia, especially ngayong lumalaki na siya at pumapasok na siya sa school,” Marian said.
“‘Yan Ang Morning” first premiered on May 2, with Marian Rivera and Boobay as hosts and mother and son Ai-Ai delas Alas and Sancho Vito as their first guests.
The pilot episode of “‘Yan Ang Morning” has a strong debut in Mega Manila with 11.8% versus “Kapamilya Blockbuster: Hunger Games: Catching Fire with only 8.1% according to AGB Nielsen. Meanwhile on Kantar Media’s nationwide data, “‘Yan ang Morning” got a lower rating of 8.4% while its rival show “Kapamilya Blockbuster: Hunger Games: Catching Fire” rated 14.1%.
“‘Yan Ang Morning” was supposed to be GMA Network’s answer to ABS-CBN’s morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” hosted by Melai Cantiveros, Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal. While its rival show “Magandang Buhay” is getting good reviews from the netizens and will still continue to greet Kapamilya viewers everyday, “‘Yan Ang Morning” will only have one week to prove its existence on TV.
On August 12, Marian will celebrate its 32nd birthday, also the finale episode of “‘Yan Ang Morning.” According to Marian, her husband Dingdong Dantes will be her last guest on her morning show.
Marian doesn’t mind the possible intrigues about the sudden termination of her talk show. She said, “Naku, hayaan mo sila. Ang alam ko nga, tuwang-tuwa sa taas dahil full load ang show.”
