Aired on February 15 this year, “Dolce Amore” instantly gained the hearts of viewers nationwide as it registered a national TV rating of 35.6%, or more than double than that of GMA Network’s “That’s My Amboy,” which only managed to score 15.8% according to Kantar Media.
GMA Network also tried the loveteam of Janine Gutierrez-Aljur Abrenica for “Once Again” but the drama series bid goodbye earlier and concluded quickly on April 29.
Even their latest rival, Korean drama “Descendants of the Sun,” also failed to give “Dolce Amore” a challenge on TV ratings nationwide.
“All good things must come to an end.”
Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s “Dolce Amore” is still fighting and giving ABS-CBN Primetime Bida a good ratings not just in Mega Manila and Urban Luzon in AGB Nielsen but more importantly in Kantar Media’s nationwide TV ratings.
Just like the past Kapamilya teleseryes on that timeslot, the LizQuen tandem has already shown their force to draw a huge viewership on primetime.
Based on the love team’s success in “Forevermore” and in the movies “Just the Way You Are” and “Everyday I Love You,” as expected, “Dolce Amore” became a hit for ABS-CBN. The series posed a big problem for its rivals, from GMA Network’s “That’s My Amboy,” to “Once Again” and up to “Descendants of the Sun,” all which struggled out of the gate since its start.
We hope to see LizQuen again in another teleserye or in a movie! Which comes first, these two deserves another project together…
