It’s been a while since we witnessed a direct competition in the box office of our local movies.
Enrique Gil movie titled “Dukot” will be pitted against Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza’s “Imagine You & Me” beginning July 13 on cinemas nationwide. Directed by Paul Soriano, “Dukot” is based on a real kidnapping while “Imagine You & Me” is AlDub’s first movie as leads with principal photography hot largely in Italy.
Take note that what is happening is an extension of the network wars as “Dukot” is distributed by Star Cinema while “Imagine You & Me” is from its rival, GMA Films, APT Entertainment. We may also note that almost every month, Star Cinema is releasing movies while “Imagine You & Me” is the very first movie under GMA Films or even APT Entertainment for this year 2016.
Will this be another round of Kapamilya versus Kapuso now in the field of the big screen? Will this become a trend monthly? It’s been a while since we saw a big competition on the big screen between Kapuso-Kapamilya rivalries.
What do you think of this competition? Which pair will you support, Enrique or the AlDub? And who do you think between the two movies would win the hearts of the buying crowd (the moviegoers)?
