The long wait is over… The new KathNiel movie is few weeks away before it hits the cinemas nationwide!
The new Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla film is next in line to Gerald Anderson-Bea Alonzo movie titled “How to be Yours,” showing on cinemas starting today (July 27).
Titled “Barcelona: A Love Untold,” the movie under Star Cinema was described by its writer Carmi Raymundo as “more matured.” Aside from acting workshops, the two lead stars took Spanish lessons for their roles. The plot will revolve around the love story between two millennials named Ely (Daniel) and Mia (Kathryn) who met in the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region.
Daniel and Kathryn left the country for Spain last May. According to Kathryn, 90 percent of the film will be shot in Barcelona, Spain. “Mukhang maraming preparations kasi alam namin si Inang (Olivia), bihira siya gumawa ng pelikula and sobrang pasasalamat namin dahil tinanggap niya ang project na ito,” she said.

“Barcelona: A Love Untold” will be directed by Olivia Lamasan, the award-winning head honcho behind the blockbuster movies “Madrasta,” “In My Life,” and “Starting Over Again.” The team will be back in the Philippines on June 28 to shoot additional scenes for the movie.
KathNiel first appeared in the movie “24/7 in Love” in 2012. The same year, they also appeared in the MMFF hit movie “Sisterakas.” Their third film was “Must Be…Love” shown in 2013 while their fourth movie was the horror-flick “Pagpag (Syam Na Buhay)” for MMFF shown the same year. In 2014, KathNiel did “She’s Dating the Gangster.” Their last movie together was “Crazy Beautiful You” shown in 2015.
