Though with numerous problems, our MRT (Metro Rail Transit) is still the better way for commuters of travelling along the usually heavily congested EDSA from North (Quezon City) to Taft (Pasay). About over 600,000 commuters the MRT in Metro Manila on a daily basis.
Riding the MRT has been a normal routine for almost everyone especially those who are students and working. It would make a great difference in everyone’s riding experience if we would be courteous and if we would consider our actions so that we may not cause discomfort to others.
In an unfortunate event happened on May 31, an MRT commuter named Rhodora Trinidad posted a photo of a male commuter with a caption stating, “This guy is sitting where the reserved seat is and my husband who’s using crutches coz 1 leg is amputated is standing beside. This guy dont know how to read or just dont bother.what a shame!”
The post received 3.2k shares as of this writing.
But what people reacted to in her post was that she insulted the guy by posting his photo who’m the netizen shameless judged. It is always best to nicely seek for his attention and advise him that it is reserved for Seniors/PWD/Pregnant Women. Some people just sit without bothering to look around.
The woman may have the point but Social Media shaming is still wrong. She should approach the guy first, if he refuse then that’s the time she will post this. Besides he pay this ride like you. Judging his looks, he looks normal but we have no way of verifying that young man’s state of health.
People should know their limits on posting to social media, this one is an example of cyber bullying.
