For the first time in recent years, GMA Network’s longest running noontime show fell to the number 2 spot in the daytime ratings board.
According to AGB Nielsen Survey conducted from May 16 -20, 2016 among Mega Manila households, “Wish I May” on it’s Friday (May 20) episode bumped off “Eat Bulaga!” to take the lead in the daytime rankings. The Miguel Tanfelix-Bianca Umali starrer afternoon drama edged “Eat Bulaga!” by 0.2% of ratings at 18.4%. “Eat Bulaga!’s” lead over its rival “It’s Showtime” is also down to a single digit after the former’s ratings went down below the 20% mark.
In primetime, new-comer “Juan Happy Love Story” which debuted on Monday May 16 had a great start. The Dennis Trillo-Heart Evangelista rom-com drama series easily beats competition placing as high as number 4 during the survey week. “24 Oras” remains the primetime leader for the rest of the week, but “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” got a chance to snatch the top spot on Monday May 16.
