Julie Anne San Jose is one of the most accomplished young stars in Philippine showbiz today. Being one of the elite few to be given a Diamond Record Award by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry, Julie Anne is no small fry as a celebrity.
Despite her stature, Julie Anne (also called Japs) had been subjected to a lot of bashing on social media, but 10 years in the business had toughened her up.
She confessed that in her early days in showbiz, she used to feel burdened by the criticisms. A YouTube comment could bring her to tears. She said,
“People try to bring you down, sanayan lang po talaga yun.” (People try to bring you down, you just have to get used to it.)
Japs consider that the bashing from some people was one of the challenges that she faced as an artist. Now, she said she does not mind them too much.
In a press conference for her “IN CONTROL” concert on May 14, Julie Anne said that she’s not affected by those who continue to attack her verbally.
She said that, artists have different ways of making people happy, and her way is through music. She knows she cannot please everybody.
“Basta pinagdadasal ko na lang po sila na sana po ay magkaron sila ng peace of mind, ” the singer-actress added. (I just pray for them, that they will have peace of mind.)
Everyone in the industry knows that Julie Anne was heavily condemned just because of her association with Alden Richards in the past.
Julie Anne said, she does not mind those issues anymore. She is just focusing on her work.
“Everything is professional.”
Asked if she’s confident enough that she will be unaffected by her bashers during the concert, Julie Anne answered by saying that the concert is her way of sharing her talent and also her way to give back to her supporters. She wants to share her music to everyone. And if some bashers want to attend, they are most welcome, too.
Jule Anne’s 10th Anniversary concert, “IN CONTROL” will be held at the Kia Theater this May 14. Tickets are available at Ticketnet Online.
