When it comes to producing TV shows that promote family values, ABS-CBN does it best.

ABS-CBN, the country’s leading media and entertainment company, bagged the Student Leaders’ Choice of TV Network for Promoting Family-Oriented Values at the 12th USTv Awards, held last week inside the University of Santo Tomas campus.

This award was one of three “Choice TV Network” awards received by ABS-CBN this year from USTv, which aims to recognize programs and personalities in media that promote Thomasian values and the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Famous for its top-rating shows that feature positive Filipino values, the Kapamilya Network won 25 out of 34 major awards including “Kris TV” (Students’ Choice of Magazine Program), “Home Sweetie Home” (Students’ Choice of Comedy Program), “The Voice Kids” (Students’ Choice of Reality/Game Show), “Tonight with Boy Abunda” (Students’ Choice of Talk Show), “On the Wings of Love” (Students’ Choice of Drama Program), and “TV Patrol” (Students’ Choice of TV News Program). It was also named Student Leaders’ Choice of TV Network for Entertainment.

Kapamilya artists and news personalities were also honored, led by Anne Curtis (Students’ Choice of Variety Show host), Alex Gonzaga (Students’ Choice of Reality/Game Show Host), Kris Aquino (Students’ Choice of Magazine Program Host), Boy Abunda (Students’ Choice of Talk Show Host), Atom Araullo (Students’ Choice of Social Media Personality and Student Leaders’ Choice of TV Personality and their Advocacy), Gretchen Ho (Students’ Choice for Social Media Development) and Dyan Castillejo (Students’ Choice of Sports Program Personality) were also awarded.

News and Current Affairs campaign and program, “Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino” (Student Leaders’ Choice of Election Station ID) and “Sports U” (Students’ Choice of Sports Program), were also recognized.

The Kapamilya Network’s dominant performance at the USTv awards completes its triumphant run in student award-giving bodies this year. ABS-CBN was also named Best TV Station at the 14th Gawad Tanglaw Awards, 2016 Platinum Stallion Awards, 3rd Paragala Awards, 3rd UmalohokJuan Awards, and 2nd Aral Parangal Awards.
