Wenn Deramas’ demise has caught Philippine showbiz industry in shock. No one has ever imagined the director will die in such a young age. After the success of his latest film “Beauty and the Bestie” which became the Philippines’ top grossing film of all time, Deramas is supposed to launch a new project, his biography “Direk 2 da Poynt”. But before he gets to launch his book, Deramas has been called by his creator.
Wenn V. Deramas or Direk Wenn in showbiz started his carreer in TV, directing several Kapamilya Teleseryes. While Deramas did great in creating top rating teleseryes, he found his rightful place in doing comedy films. His Tanging Ina series was so successful it made Ai-ai delas Alas the country’s box-office comedy queen. Their remake of Roderick Paulate’s “Petrang Kabayo” which earned PHP 115 million pesos has become Vice Ganda’s ticket to fame.
