Robin Padilla does not want to make teleseryes anymore. This was revealed by the action star in a recent interview by ABS-CBN.
The action star said, he is enjoying his stint as a host of “Game ng Bayan” and as a judge for “Pilipinas Got Talent” and said that television series are not appropriate for his age.
The “Game ng Bayan” host said that teleseryes should be entrusted to younger actors, instead. He said,
“Hindi na, sa mga bata na lang yan, sa mga pwedeng magpuyat. Matanda na tayo, gusto ko na lang talaga kasama ko ‘yung mga tao, ‘yung enjoy. Hindi ko na kayang mag-drama. Sa iba na lang natin ibigay yun.” (Not anymore, those are for the young only, those who can stay awake all night. I am old, I just want to be with the people, just to enjoy. I cannot act in dramas anymore. Let’s just give it to others.)
Robin seems very excited with his new role as a game show host. He said that going to barangays for “Game ng Bayan” makes him feel like he’s just 15. The fiesta atmosphere that ensues whenever they visit a barangay really makes him feel very much alive and happy .
Come to think of it, the Bad Boy of Philippine cinema is not that old yet. He’s just 47 and even looks years younger than his biological age. However, he has been an actor for over 30 years now and has several blockbuster films and top rated tv series under his name.
Robin’s fans shouldn’t feel disheartened. With his recent statement, he has only given up on tv series or teleseryes only, but not on films nor other genres on TV.
