The public never really knew the real score between actress Jane Oineza and La Salle basketball player, Jeron Teng. But in an interview with “Kris TV” on March 3, Jane couldn’t help but answer questions posed by the ever-inquisitive Kris Aquino regarding her relationship with Jeron.
It turns out that Jeron is a close friend of Kris, thus making it all the more difficult for Jane not to answer the host’s questions candidly.
Early February, Jane and Jeron already confirmed in a blog by Darla Sauler that they were no longer a couple since the last quarter of 2015. Jeron describe it as a “good break-up” and that they remained good friends.
Kris started the casual interview by asking if Jane was bitter about the break-up and Jane immediately assured her she was not. It’s just that,
“may mga bagay na di mo expected na mawawala pero nawawala.” (there are things you didn’t expect to lose, but they disappear just the same).
Jane admitted that it was Jeron who ended the relationship.
Kris commented that Jeron told her and Darla that he knows he will be a hindrance to Jane’s career. But it seems he never said that reason directly to Jane.
Jane said that she knew that all along and respects his decision. She said that there were lessons learned and good memories that she got from their special relationship.
Asked what could have been her shortcoming, Jane said she couldn’t think of any. Maybe “if it’s not meant to be”, then it wouldn’t really happen. She said that there were hints they were headed for a break-up, because she felt differently. But it was ok for her because she also felt Jeron also needs to focus.
Jane constantly repeated, “Ganun talaga ang buhay.” (Life’s like that.)
When Darla commented “When you’re alone, you’ll find yourself”, Jane laughed but agreed. She said,
“minsan kailangan mo muna maging okay sa sarili mo. Kailangan mo munang maging buo bago mo mai share yung sarili mo sa iba.” (Sometimes you have to be ok with yourself. You need to be whole before you can share yourself with others.)
Now here comes the confusing part, when Kris asked Jane if Jeron was her first boyfriend, she said “No”.
Kris followed up with, “Not your first?” Again, Jane answered in the negative, “Hindi, wala.” (No , there’s none).
Darla commented, “Hindi nya naging boyfriend daw!” (She said he never became her boyfriend!) Which led Kris to comment that if they broke up, then that’s because Jeron became Jane’s boyfriend.
Jane said she didn’t understand why Jeron described their separation as a “good break-up”. Maybe because they still continued to talk?
OMG, can anybody sort that out? Anyway, Darla described the couple as MU or exclusively dating, which is the trend nowadays. To that description, Jane somehow agreed.
Whatever they want to call or however they describe their past, it still boils down to the fact that Jane and Jeron’s relationship has ended. And for now, it’s clear that they are just friends.
