For the past few days, the issue between the “Tubig at Langis” co-stars Vivian Velez and Cristine Reyes has been circulating around to online media in which the 47-year old veteran actress irrevocably resign from their afternoon television series because of Cristine last Monday March 7, 2016.
Now is the best time to provide a rundown about the issue happening to “Tubig at Langis” stars.
Vivian Velez accused Cristine Reyes as rude.
“I have never been so upset and humiliated by an actress in my entire career spanning 4 decades! I will not support a lead actress like her, she bangs the doors, shouted at me and she keeps on singing ‘Goodbye, Farewell’ in front of my face while we are rehearsing.”
In addition to that, Vivian also shared that Cristine has complained to the entire production staff towards their treatment to Vivian on being nice whilst she should be the top priority all the time among the stars of the show since she is the leading actress.
Prior to that, the incident happened not just once or on the day itself when Vivian informed the management and updated her Facebook account, but it’s been a month since “Tubig at Langis” lead actress showed her rudeness to Vivian.
Vivian’s reaction after Cristine gave her opinion regarding to the issue
After Cristine had finally spoke-up, Vivian updated her Facebook status and according to her, it was just whitewashing as expected.
Another status update was made on her Facebook account. She was now busy doing some taping for her last scenes in the series. What she said on the latter part proves that she’s still mad at Cristine.
Cristine Reyes clarifies the issue and defends herself.
“I am sorry that some gaps in the communication between the production staff, Ms. Vivian, and myself escalated some issues.”
A statement from Cristine yesterday March 8, 2016. According to the actress, her dressing room was infested with mosquitos and she’s afraid of getting dengue so as anyone of her co-stars that’s why the management decided to transfer her to the master’s bedroom and later on, she was asked if she’s okay sharing the bedroom with Ms. Vivian Velez because her room is not yet ready.
Vivian’s treatment to Cristine
According to an updated article by Rappler, there was a scenario when Cristine came from a movie shoot and was not able to rest well at their shared bedroom since Vivian started a commotion. The only thing she did back then is to went outside to get some air and when she was asked by the executive producer why she was out in the common area for artists. Cristine just answered that it was difficult to sleep with Ms. Vivian inside the room.
On singing ‘Goodbye, Farewell’ to Vivian
Prior to that issue, Cristine told Rappler that she was just singing the song of Avril Lavigne as one of her ways to release her stress and here’s the conversation of the two stars of “Tubig at Langis.”
“Are you alluding to me?! Are you even a superstar?!” –Vivian
“I was just singing, is that bad?” –Cristine
To end this rift, Cristine gave a statement to show some respect for being one of the veteran actress in the industry.
“I do have high regard for and respect with thanks senior artists who have pave the way for stars like me in the industry. Despite the inconvenience I encountered while she was around, I had no intentions whatsoever of booting her out, still I would’ve appreciated a resolution better because I had nothing to do with the issue of Ms. Vivian’s source of anger. It was the production staff that was trying to transfer her and not me.”
A clarification from “Tubig at Langis” staff
The entire staff made a statement and it was uploaded at Talabscbn Instagram account, informing everyone that it was not Cristine’s fault and intentions to transfer Vivian to another room after it was prepared and cleaned to prevent it from being mosquitos-infested. Perhaps, it was a miscommunication and the production team wishes to take responsibility for the conflict happening between Vivian Velez and Cristine Reyes.
In fact, it was just a simple room that causes the two stars to have conflict and started to set on fire wherein they can actually talk in a timely manner right before the show and production executed their plans.
