Director Wenn Deramas has died due to a heart attack. He was 49.

June Rufino, who was interviewed at ANC this morning, said that he went to the hospital at 2:00am early Monday, February 29, and later, could not be revived. Deramas had just learned that his brother had died of a heart attack, triggering his own.
According to ANC tweets, Deramas “almost had a heart attack two years ago” and had an angioplasty the previous year.
Deramas is known to be the director of many box-office comedy hits such as “Ang Tanging Ina”, “Petrang Kabayo”, “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin”, “Sisterakas”, and and many more. Hi recent hit “Beauty and the Bestie” has earned P526 million in the box office as of January 26, 2016.

Deramas’s remains will be brought to Arlington Memorial Chapels in Araneta Avenue today.
