Rosanna “Osang” Roces recently surprised many people when she revealed in an interview with Boy Abunda at “Tonight with Boy Abunda” (TWBA) show on February 17, that she is happy in her present romantic relationship with a woman.
The actress, famous for her sexy roles in the mid to late 1990s, also said that she “found her match” and plans to marry her lesbian lover. She did not give details as to when that will happen, but she was candid enough to spill out their love story.
Osang said she and her present lover were already living together as a couple when she was just 15. They stayed with her parents who knew all about their relationship.
The outspoken actress also revealed that she got pregnant with her eldest daughter Grace, so she and her lesbian lover will have a child of their own. But in her 5th month of her pregnancy, they separated because her lover thought she was in love with the father of her child. Osang said that’s not true because she only used Grace’s father to have a child whom she and her partner can raise together.
After their separation, Osang said she never had a serious relationship. Even with her husband (Tito Molina), she confessed that she felt something was missing.
After 27 years, Osang met her lesbian lover again and now they are planning to get married.
She said earlier in the interview, “Alam mo rin kung papano ako magpalit ng lalaki noon, parang nagpapalit lang ng damit, parang lahat is an experiment pero yun na tapos na. wala akong natututunan, di ba? wala, parang may something missing. So yun, nakita ko na yung something missing.” ( You know how i change men before. It’s just like changing clothes, like everything is an experiment and that’s the end of it. I never learned anything. There was something missing. Now, i found that “something missing”.)
Osang credits her present relationship for the change in her outlook on life. She said “Pag pala tinatama mo yung buhay mo, lahat ng bisyo mo na hindi mo gusto na nandyan, kusang nawawala. Of course, with the help of the Lord. ” (If you want to change your life, all your present vices will just disappear.) She cited her smoking as an example, which she was able to stop without any effort.
The actress said “God hates the sin, not the sinner” before saying that she was also very mad when Boy expressed his anger on TWBA regarding Manny Pacquaio’s anti-gay remarks. She said she was not able to say why she was mad then. But with her revelation about her sexuality now, everyone understands the reason behind her indignation.
Osang was most likely referring to her series of Facebook posts wherein she expressed her wrath against Manny’s “worse than animal” description of homosexuality and same-sex marriage. In her usual colorful language and in all caps at that, Osang posted no holds barred criticisms about Manny’s homophobic comments. In her facebook account, she also shared juicy tidbits which we cannot print here.
Perhaps Osang was enraged all the more by Manny’s controversial statement because she said her family is so much into Christianity, and yet not one of them judged her.
