The controversial statement of our local boxing hero Manny Pacquiao about homosexuality particularly the issue of same-sex marriage in reference to his new found religion has raised numerous negative reactions from netizens that even several showbiz personalities have openly expressed their anger and disappointment.
In the recent “Ani Ng Dangal Awards” press conference, veteran actress Nora Aunor blatantly reacts to Pacquiao’s opinion on same-sex marriage and said that womanizing and gambling is worse than being homosexual.

Talking to some press people, Nora Aunor reacts by saying- “Ang masama doon ay sugarol ka, babaero ka — mas masama iyon. At saka huwag niyang sasabihing hayop kasi mga tao iyon eh,” (What is worse is that you are a gambler, a womanizer. And besides he should not call them animals since they are human)
Manny Pacquiao was already been involved in controversies such as womanizing and gambling in the past but according to him he has already transformed for the better through his new found religious belief.
Reporters at the press conference asked Nora Aunor of what advice will she give Pacquiao being a public servant and senatorial aspirant at the 2016 election she said- “Nasa gobyerno siya, hindi ba? Kung ano ang personal na opinyon niya dapat itago na lang niya”. (He is in the government, right? Whatever is his personal opinion he should have just keep it to himself)

“Tumigil na muna siya nang kadadaldal at humingi siya ng tawad doon sa mga pinaringan niya,” (He should stop talking and ask for forgiveness to the people he maligned) Nora Aunor added.
Manny Pacquiao has already issued an apology publicly about his controversial stand on same-sex marriage but still maintained his belief that he is strongly against same-sex marriage.
According to an ABC-CBN news article, during the “Ani Ng Dangal” press conference Nora Aunor stated that “Tao pa rin iyan,” (They are also people) “Suportahan natin sila kasi wala naman silang ginagawang masama eh”. (Let’s support them (LGBT) since they did not do anything wrong)
In the end, Nora Aunor supports same sex marriage in the Philippines even if the people are mostly Christians. She said- “Para sa akin, bakit naman hindi? Kaysa naman nagtatago kayo eh alam naman ng mga tao”. (I would say, why not? instead of keeping it a secret. And to think people already knew about it)
