The first in the 3-series Presidential Debates “PiliPinas Debates 2016” scores big in the ratings on daytime Sunday according to AGB-Nielsen survey.
Among the Mega Manila households on Sunday February 21, “PiliPinas Debates 2016” is the most watched daytime program beating the consistent number 1 “Sunday Pinasaya”.
In a variety show dominated timeblock, the 1st edition of the Presidential debates for the 2016 Philippine elections under news and current affairs was able to capture majority of Mega Manila viewers. Hosted by GMA Network bigwigs Mike Enriquez and Jessica Soho, “PiliPinas Debates 2016” got a ratings of 25.3%, 5.1% higher than “Sunday Pinasaya’s” 20.2%.
During primetime, news and current affairs program also tops the ratings ranking. 24 Oras (which was also the most watched TV program in whole-day Sunday), leads primetime with 29%.
Meanwhile, “Eat Bulaga!” still rules the Saturday daytime slot, leading more than double its rival “It’s Showtime”. “Eat Bulaga!” was able to register 25.8% compared to “It’s Showtime’s” 11.8%.
In primetime, GMA Network shows continue to dominate Saturday programming headlined by “Pepito Manaloto”, “Magpakailanman” and “24 Oras” in the top 3. Michael V’s reality sitcom “Pepito Manaloto” got 24.4% while “Magpakailanman” and “24 Oras” registered 23.9% and 21.1% respectively.
