After selling 74 tickets, producers of Alden Richards’ concert at the Philippine Arena decided to cancel the show.
Top-billed by AlDub’s one-half Alden Richards, the “Sa Totoong Buhay Naman” concert set on February 20 at the Philippine Arena didn’t pushed through after its producers decided to cancel the show.
In an article published by Pocholo Concepcion on Inquirer, it reported that producers decided to cancel the concert because of dismal ticket sales. Sources said the concert only sold 74 tickets, a disappointing turn-out to a 55,000 seater Philippine Arena. Asked about more details on the cancellation, one of the ticket sellers opted not to give the needed details.
Meanwhile, aside from the dismal turn-out in the ticket sales, other news reports claimed the cancellation was due to JaDine’s “JaDine In Love” concert which falls on the same date.
According to June Nardo’s article in Philstar.com, Alden’s concert was cancelled to prevent head on collision with the JaDine’s concert. If the news of the dismal ticket sales is true, then it’s really understandable for the producer not to push through with it knowing “JaDine In Love” was a already a sold-out show.
But ticket holders need not worry, as Alden announced on “Eat Bulaga”, the tickets that were bought for the February 20 Philippine Arena concert will still be honored once a new date and venue will set.

This is not the first time that Alden had an unflattering concert outcome. His concert series in Dubai and Qatar was also reported to be a flop.
With this latest blow in his career, is Alden Richards’ mass appeal going on the brink?
After bringing in dozens of endorsements and jam packed mall tours and shows, unflattering ticket sales for his concert seemed alarming? Does Alden Richards’ star really fading? Is AlDub magic not working anymore?
