Is is true that the famous AlDub loveteam, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza’s first teleserye should have been “That’s My Amboy”?

Three weeks before the pilot episode of “That’s my Amboy”, the cast was not yet complete and shooting of any episodes have not yet started pointing to the fact that the teleserye must have been intended initially for the AlDub tandem.
It would have been the best news to the AlDub Nation if indeed the teleserye was starred by their idols, but you might wonder what went wrong.
There are a lot of speculations here and there. Could be the reason for this was because Tape Inc. did not agree to the terms of GMA Network? Or are they protecting their valued star Maine Mendoza ‘Yaya Dub‘ from overexposure?
If this is the case, then clearly the fate of Maine Mendoza lies in the hands of Mr. Tuviera and Tape Inc.
Also, GMA Network is very vocal in saying that any projects with Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards together are not in their hands. Maine is a talent of TAPE Inc. while Alden is a talent of GMA Artist Center. They also said that Aden will have his own teleserye wih or without Maine.
That being said, “That’s My Amboy”, the newest teleserye of GMA Network starred by Barbie Forteza and Andre Paras looks promising.
Let’s just wait and see if they will exceed the expectation of the public viewers.
Will they click just like the AlDub love team or will they end up as a disappointment to all the viewers?
