Kapuso star Ai-Ai delas Alas was disappointed when Star Cinema announced that its movie “Beauty and the Bestie” was the top earner at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2015.
Ai-Ai insisted that her film, ‘My Bebe Love’ was the top grosser. She accused ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema of cheating, dirty tactics, and manipulation. She also added that she knows everything about the issue.
ABS-CBN Ad Prom head Roxy Liquigan denied Ai-Ai’s accusations and questioned why God was even dragged into the picture.
Roxy said on Twitter that it’s already 2016 and time to move on. She is also a script consultant for several films and television series on ABS-CBN.
Ai-Ai’s comments and accusations sparked reactions from netizens who reminded the former that she came from ABS CBN where made blockbuster movies under Star Cinema before.
Additionally, netizens believe Ai-Ai is sour-graping. The comedienne is currently under GMA where she signed an exclusive two-year contract after moving from ABS-CBN.
Whatever the case is, it should be resolve legally. Using social media won’t solve the problem. There is a proper and legal way to address the problem.
This does not only affect the concerned parties but the rest of the local entertainment industry. We hope that this issue will be resolved soon and the showbiz industry will become one in its goal for better television and film offerings.
