Filipinos have all been anticipating the homecoming of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, after her controversial coronation at Las Vegas on December 20, 2015.
Finally, Pia’s back in the Philippines! She arrived on Saturday, January 23, aboard a Philippine Airlines plane which flew her from Bali, Indonesia to Manila.
Pia has a lot of activities lined up for her Grand Homecoming. That includes a Grand Homecoming Parade, and courtesy calls to the Senate, House of Representatives, Offices of City Mayors and of course Malacanang. The final event dubbed as the Miss Universe Homecoming Special, will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Every Filipino should be excited to be part of Pia’s Grand Homecoming. We owe it to Pia to give her a warm welcome because bringing home the Miss Universe crown was not an easy task. Thanks to Pia’s wit and charm, the Philippines finally won the tilt after 42 long years of waiting.
But what is this we read at Bandera written by Ambet Nabus, that a certain beauty queen (let’s us call her BQ) backed out from hosting one of the parties or events for Pia? The said beauty queen used to be very vocal about her support for Pia. But her sudden withdrawal from hosting the event has led others to speculate about her decision. Is she insecure or jealous? Or is it simply because the organizers are not paying BQ a cent for the hosting, expecting her labor to be gratis (free)?
Well, for whatever reason she has declined the hosting, we hope BQ changes her mind. If not for the love and gratitude for Pia for bringing home the Miss Universe crown, at least for the simple and practical reason that hosting such an event might bring her international exposure and more.
Lots of people want to be around Ms. Universe Pia Wurtzbach because they know that most of her activities are covered by the foreign press.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a picture with Pia at your side, when they report her activities in media companies worldwide?
