Maine Mendoza recently posted a tweet that pertains to a person who looks exactly like her and upon further investigation from the thread itself, the followers seemingly points out to one specific person, Kissiel Solis.
Fate can sometimes be very playful. One time you are just doing the things that you love, and the next thing you are someone who have broken internet world records and a popular celebrity. The biggest oddity is this is where you start meeting all kinds of people, and sometimes one of those people looks exactly like you.
This is not the first time that someone has a look-alike. There so many well documented cases that people seems to be separated at birth, but are not even related in blood (identical twins), but circumstances made them look physically the same. Seeing or meeting one can bring all sort of emotions and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza seems to be both ‘creeped out’ and delighted at the same time.
We at LionHearTV managed to get a hold of the Maine Mendoza look-alike Kissiel Solis and get her thoughts about the seemingly uncanny comparison.
Me: Good morning Kissiel. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to have this time to talk to you. Chris nga pala from LionHearTV. We would would like to ask a few questions. Feel free to answer in any way you can.
Kissiel: Good Morning too. Nice to Meet You po.
Me: First off. Okay lang ba to get a few details about you na open kang malaman ng public?
Kissiel:Â Ahmm. depende po sa questions. (It depends on the question.)
Me: I’ll try not to be too invasive. Here it goes. Can we get your full name?
Kissiel: Yes, Marie Kissiel Solis.
Me:  How young (old) are you? When do you celebrate your birthdays?
Kissiel: I’m 17 and turning 18 this coming February 9, 2016.
Me:Â Are you still studying? In currently what year and course?
Kissiel: I’m currently a first year and taking a 2-year course on Office Management.
Kissiel: Only child.
Me: Let’s go to favorites. Any favorite song or musician?
Kissiel:Â All songs of Bruno Mars and Sam Smith.
Me: Nice. Good artists. How about books? Do you like reading?
Kissiel:Â Yes, specially ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not’
Me: So more into reading informative stuff pala. Any specific genre o author na binabalik-balikan mo to read? (So you are into reading. Do you have any favorite author?)
Kissiel:Â John Green’s “The Fault In Our Stars”.
Me:Â Do you have local celebrity crushes?
Kissiel: None.
Me: What hobbies are you into? Are you into collecting anything?
Kissiel:Â Ahhhmmm. Yes, Pokemon Miniature Figures XDÂ and, Kain kain kain. (Yes, Pokemon miniature figures and eating.)
Me: Buti hindi masyado tumataba. (Its a good thing you don’t easily get fat.) The perks of being young with a fast metabolism.
(I am not the type that gets fat easily. I think It usually goes to my height. )
Me:Â How tall are you anyway?
Kissiel:Â 5’8″.
Me: Quite tall for a teenager.  Tell me about your personality. You seem like a jolly person with the way you post your status update and photos
(People around me specially those close to me, share that if they were to describe me, they would say that I am someone who is crazy, jolly, a prankster, a joker, and overall comic. )
Me: Are you afraid of something? Any specific phobias?
Kissiel: I am afraid of riding a boat o kahit anong sasakayang pandagat. (I am afaraid of riding a boat or any seafearing vehicle.)
Me:Â When did people start noticing that you have a local celebrity look alike?
(I know someone from the subdivision who told me that I looked like ‘Yaya Dub’ from “Eat Bulaga”. Then in our school campus, people start calling me ‘Yaya Dub’ until it has somewhat become my nick name.)
Me: It was the same month that Maine Mendoza debut as Yaya Dub in the ‘All for Juan, Juan for All segment’.  So dun pala nagsimula yung compliments and comparison na you look like her. (So that was when it all the compliments and comparison started that you looked like her.) How did that feel for you, having look alike?
Kissiel:Â Nagtataka. Even until now nagtataka pa rin pero nakasanayan na po. (I was puzzling. even now I am puzzled but I got used to it.)
Me: Are you big into watching local television? Do you see yourself more as a Kapuso, Kapamilya, or Kapatid?
Kissiel: Hind po ako palanood ng TV. “Eat Bulaga” lng po pinapanood ko. More on Kapuso. (I am not a big television fan. I only watch “Eat Bulaga” and more of a Kapuso.)
Me:Â What do you think of Maine when you saw her for the first time in “Eat Bulaga”?
Kissiel:Â Familliar. Akala ko ako, Nyahahaha. Sa unang tingin lng po. (She looks familiar. I thought she was me, but only at a first glance.)
Me:Â When did the influx or rush of messages starts filling your inbox and friend request?
Kissiel:Â Last Friday, January 22.
Me:Â What do you think of this attention all of the sudden?
Kissiel: Hindi ko po alam. (I don’t know.)
Me:Â Have you ever been into the “Eat Bulaga” studio as a live audience?
Kisiel:Â Yes, pero 7 years old pa lang po ako noon. XD (Yes, but I was still seven years old by then.)
Me: What are your thoughts when she said she was “creeped out” but was delighted when she took notice that you guys looked alike?
(If I am going to be asked, I am not exactly sure that I was the person being referred in her tweet.)
Me: Point taken. It is mostly the AlDub nation yung nagfollow-up sa post which then point towards you. (Point taken. It is mostly the Aldub nation who have followed up on the post who then later pointed towards you.) Ergo all this attention. Oh by the way are you part of any AlDub or MaineDen group?
Kissiel: “Aldub You Maalden Kita” group.
Me: Any messages to the AlDub Nation or  sa mga taong dumagsa sa profile mo out of curiosity? (Any message to the aldub Nation or those who come to your profile out of curiosity?)
(Thank you. I thanked them because they seem to encourage me to reach the things that seems to be hard or impossible to reach. I also dreamed before, but their reaction and support is one of a kind.)
Me: Well you are so kind and polite din naman. People like and gravitate towards people na masaya kasama at magaling makisama. (Well you are so kind and polite as well. People like and gravitate towards people who are fun to be with and good with people. Thank you Kissiel for letting us interview you.)
Kissiel: Salamat din po. (I would also like to thank you.)
