AlDub is the character of Yaya Dub (the character portrayed by actress Maine Mendoza) and Alden Richards. On July 16, 2015 episode of “All for Juan, Juan for All” segment of “Eat Bulaga,” Yaya Dub broke way from her silent character when she was caught tickled pink or “kilig” when she saw Alden on the show’s live split screen, and teased by Allan K. thus prompting Eat Bulaga ’s producers to make an onscreen couple of the two and the rest is history as AlDub and the Kalyeserye series became a worldwide phenomenon both on television and social media.
