Direk Wenn Deramas admitted that he was hurt by the comments made by Ai-Ai delas Alas regarding the alleged cheating in the last 41st Metro Manila Film Festival, but he stood firm in what they believe, their movie “Beauty and the Bestie” is number one in the box office of the MMFF against “My Bebe Love.”

He further stressed that as of 7:00p.m. last night, Tuesday, January 12, they are already in the P481 million mark, as reported on Pep.ph, this even surpassed the record of “Praybeyt Benjamin” last year which is P456M and “A Second Chance” P480M. “This does not include the international screening of our film, so who they think is the number one box office top grosser? Of course, it’s “Beauty and the Bestie” he added.
Deramas admitted though that he has no idea how much “My Bebe Love” has earned in the box office, but he claimed that those from MMFF were saying its them.
Further into the report, when Arniel Serato of Pep asked Direk Wenn :”What can you say about the effect of this issue in your friendship?”
Deramas answered, “I hope this does not affect our friendship, that it will not reach that point. This is showbiz, at the end of the day, we would still see each other, this is still a small world.”
So are they still friends?
Direk Wenn said that they haven’t had the chance to talk, its been a long time since they talked, and that was when his brother died and Ai-Ai expressed her condolences.
But was he hurt by what Ai-Ai has been insinuating? “Of course, I am the director of the movie that’s in the center of all this accusations, and I’ve worked for Star Cinema for more that 20 years, and that’s also where she used to work. I’m just wondering where all this are coming from? How can she say all those things? Does that mean that all her previous movies are also involve in the cheating scheme?”
