The charming love stories that viewers get to see on GMA Network’s daytime series “Dangwa” may end soon.
According to reporter Nora Calderon of Pang-Masa, “Dangwa” will only air up to February. That’s because it’s lead star, Janine Gutierrez will start taping for the Kapuso network’s remake of “Encantadia” starting next month.
That’s sad news for the fans of “Dangwa”, who avidly await the daily series for its very engaging romantic dramas. The series has developed a following since most of the featured love stories appeal to all ages. And this was reflected in its decent ratings since it first aired on October 26.
Aside from the very beautiful Janine, “Dangwa” also features hunk Aljur Abrenica and heartthrob Mark Herras, who both have their loyal fanbase. If the series ends by February, these actors will be surely missed for their endearing roles.
Though “Dangwa” will be saying goodbye soon, Janine is set to make more milestones in her career. She just fulfilled her wish to be part of a movie, with the MMFF entry “Buy Now, Die Later.” Janine starred with her mother, Lotlot de Leon and ABS-CBN stars Alex Gonzaga and Vhong Navarro.
Calderon said that during a press conference with GMA Artist Center, Janine revealed that she actually has more movies coming out in 2016. She will star in “Lila” with Enchong Dee, which will be an entry to the Sinag Maynila Film Festival in March 2016. She will also be featured in “Dagsin”, a Cinemalaya entry in July 2016.
Aside from these movies, Janine will play a major role in the remake of “Encantadia”, as mentioned earlier. We are sure her participation in one of GMA Network’s biggest fantasy series will be more than enough to cover up for the closing of “Dangwa”.
