This years Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has earned total of seven hundred thirty seven (737) million pesos in gross sales within the week period of December 25, 2015 to January 1, 2016.
Half of the gross sales earned by MMFF came from the ticket sales of Star Cinema’s “Beauty and the Bestie” making it as the number one movie in MMFF box office.
Based on the recent reports, Star Cinema’s “Beauty and The Bestie” has earned more than three hundred (300) million pesos in gross sales from the week of December 25, 2015 to January 1, 2016 overtaking the race against “My Bebe Love”.
From the initial reports, “My Bebe Love” topped the MMFF Box Office on the opening day. They have recorded total of 60.5 million gross sales which broke the opening gross sales of all Filipino films up to this date.
“Beauty and The Bestie’s” lead star Vice Ganda confirmed the news in his twitter post last January 1, 2016.
“300 Million THANKS to you Madlang People for making us number 1 in your hearts. #BeutyAndTheBestieSecondWeek”, Vice Ganda posted in his official twitter account @vicegandako.
To show his big thanks to Madlang People the comedian decided to make a surprise visit in different cinemas playing “The Beauty and The Bestie”.
Earlier today, ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol released the official rankings of MMFF 2015 movies confirming that “Beauty and the Bestie” leads the MMFF Box Office sales.
The top four movies in rankings are: (1) Beauty and The Bestie, (2) My Bebe Love, (3) Haunted Mansion and (4) Walang Forever.
Last Year, Vice Ganda’s MMFF entry “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” also lead in MMFF Box Office making a total gross sales of four hundred forty million pesos (440 Million).
People are still waiting for the MMFF to release the exact box office figures for each movies.
