Yesterday, Vice Ganda on twitter, proudly announced that their MMFF 2015 entry “Beauty and the Bestie” has already reached ₱500M mark since its showing on Christmas day, excluding the international screenings. “As of 7pm today BEAUTY AND THE BESTIE has already reached the 500 Million mark. (Excluding international screenings) Thank you po!”
The Vice Ganda-Coco Martin with loveteam JaDine starrer film “Beauty and the Bestie” is now hailed the all-time highest-grossing Filipino film in MMFF history. “Beauty and the Bestie” beat the previous record of Vice Ganda’s 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” which made P456 million.

“Beauty and the Bestie,” though came second during the first week of the box office race emerged as the runaway winner due to the very effective word of mouth from those who already watched the movie and of course the reviews from the reliable movie critics.
“Beauty and the Bestie” does not probably need even a half hour to meet its intentions. Right at its first minute, it sends the entire theater into exploding laughter, and it never stops from there, even at moments when the script takes brief turns of absurdly forced manipulative dramas. There is no doubt the Wenn Deramas-Vice Ganda formula is working again. Of course, thank you also to Coco Martin, James Reid and Nadine Lustre for adding some of the best ‘kilig’ and surprises in the movie.
