The love team of Andre Paras and Barbie Forteza, more commonly known as AnBie, will star in the upcoming teleserye “That’s My Amboy”. The series will air on January 25 and will be part of GMA Network’s primetime offering or GMA Telebabad.
Fresh from their team-up in the afternoon teleserye “The Half Sisters”, which had been a top-rating daytime soap, AnBie will once again showcase their talents in a tv series. This time though, Andre and Barbie’s show will not be a family drama but a romantic-comedy-drama series.
But even if their newest teleserye may have a lighter theme, Andre and Barbie feel challenged and pressured at the same time, according to Philstar.
“That’s My Amboy” is getting a primetime slot and thus, it will be pitted against the heavyweights of other networks. Will they stand a chance when it comes to ratings?
Andre and Barbie really have no cause for worry. With Bb. Joyce Bernal as director of the series, “That’s My Amboy” just might surprise everyone.
Joyce is known for creating scenes that make everyone giggle and fall in love all over again. She has directed such winners as Marian and Dingdong’s “Marimar”, “Dyesebel”, and “Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang”. Her most recent triumph, “My Faithful Husband”, made waves in local television.
AnBie will also be supported by a strong cast including Donita Rose, Antoinette Taus, Meryll Soriano, Matet de Leon, Jerald Napoles, Kiko Estrada, Christopher Roxas, Gio Alvarez, Lito Legaspi and others. Philstar revealed that Tonton Gutierrez will also come on board for the rom-com series.
