Today, January 21, 2016, AlDub launched its 1st AlDub Library at Lumban Central Elementary School in Laguna, that has 573 students. Coinciding with the launch is the 27th weeksary of the AlDub love team.
It was on October 17, 2015, that Lola Nidora first announced the library project with funds coming from the “Tamang Panahon” concert.
The aim of the project is to put up libraries in different schools in the country. The said concert of the love team was a huge success and “Eat Bulaga!” raised P14 million from ticket sales from 55,000 tickets sold in three days. The fans who were unable to buy tickets, especially those in other countries, were also encouraged to donate to the cause.
Other schools on the list are the Lumban-Kalayaan Elementary School in Laguna; Ongol-Ilaya Elementary School in Dumarao, Capiz; Tambacan Elementary School in Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte, and many others.
This is a proof of Eat Bulaga’s dedication to pursue education and support schoolchildren who are want to reach their dreams, in spite of the hardships and challenges in life.
Aside from the library, “Eat Bulaga!” also provided books, tables, chairs, cabinets, and computer sets that students of Lumban Central Elementary School can use to further their knowledge and education. Toilets were also made in the library.
Surely, this will help a lot of students broaden their knowledge.
Thank you “Eat Bulaga!” and AlDub for being an inspiration to fans and setting an example on how to be selfless, share, and care for other people’s needs. More power!
