The winners and semi-finalists of The Voice Kids Philippines graced the recently concluded 1st RAWR Awards held at the Meralco Theater on December 10, 2015.
Lyca Gairanod, Edray Teodoro, Elha Nympha , Kyle Echarri, and Francis Lim entertained the audience with their song numbers.
The kids were early birds despite the heavy traffic in the metropolis due to the onset of the Christmas season. They were eager and bubbly before and after their performances, showing just how seasoned professionals they have become, early on in their careers.
While they were backstage, we were able to interview the kids and ask them about their plans and wishes for the coming Holidays. Here they are:
Voice Kids Season 1 winner Lyca said she wants to enjoy Christmas with her family in simple ways like enjoying rides at amusement parks with her siblings. Lyca, who turned 11 last November, said she wants God to continue to guide her family. She also would also like to greet the Lord a Happy Birthday, since “Siya po ang reason kaya may Pasko” (He’s the reason why there’s Christmas).
It seems Lyca is so spiritual and faithful, she never forgets to thank God for all her blessings, that’s quite rare for someone her age.
Edray Teodoro, Lyca’s batchmate and semi-finalist, will spend the holidays at home with her parents. But, if her parents are in the mood to go out during that time, she would happily tag along. Her fervent Christmas wish is that people would like her single under MCA Music. Edray’s debut single is a catchy tune titled “Puedepende” , which was uploaded on YouTube on December 1.
Her refreshing and cool voice makes it a good song for easy listening, and will be a good addition to anyone’s playlist.
Meanwhile, Season 2 winner Elha said she and her family would celebrate Christmas at home with simple treats like banana cue and other food. It should be remembered that Elha’s family is into food business. Elha even used to sell banana cues to help out her family. After winning Voice Kids Season 2, Elha said that her dream is to put up a restaurant, and she’s still holding on to that dream.
As to her wish this Christmas, she prays that her career will continue to prosper and that her family will always stay healthy.
For Kyle, who’s quite busy as an extended cast member of popular primetime series “On The Wings of Love” (OTWOL), spending time with his family is all he wants for the holidays. Semi-finalist Kyle seems loaded with OTWOL tapings and other showbiz activities, that he misses his family so much. Thus, he’s just wishing to bond and reconnect with his family this Christmas.
As for Francis, the Team Sarah member who made it all the way to the Sing-offs in Voice Kids Season 2, he’s raring to guest on events these holidays. But at the same time, he wants to be with his family at home or on an out-of-town trip, if time permits.
Francis may be small but he dreams big. He said he wants to be a good singer and to have his own album someday. With his kind of voice, that album is just a few years away.
These kids are busy enjoying their budding careers right now, but we found out that at the end of the day, they still treasure family above all else. For the coming holidays, the kids have expressed a common desire, and that is to spend time with their family.
