John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo’s movie “A Second Chance” the Highest Grossing Filipino Movie of all Time, earned a whopping P556 million worldwide and now considered the highest grossing non-Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry and the ‘highest grossing Filipino Film of all time.’
It has a successful movie showing in different parts of the world such as the United Kingdom, it was also shown in different major cities worldwide like Paris, Madrid, Milan, Messina, Padova, Rome, and Vienna.
Their movie broke the previous record of “Starting Over Again” starring Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga, Iza Calzado among others, this is another Star Cinema offering which passed the P400 million mark after its one-month of showing in cinemas. Based on local statistics, “A Second Chance” achieved the same peak in just 10 days.
According to ABS-CBN reporter Gretchen Fullido, she announced it on her Twitter account that the movie has grossed PHP43.3 million on opening day. And after 3 weeks, the film earned P442-million box office success, making it an impressive and high earning movie of Star Cinema this year.
The highest grossing Filipino film on record was achieved by the film “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin.” It is an MMFF 2014 entry movie, the comedy film starred by Vice Ganda, with Richard Yap, Alex Gonzaga, Tom Rodriguez and Bimby Aquino-Yap, passed the P456-million box office income within 22 days of showing in cinemas nationwide. Kapamilya blockbuster comedian Vice Ganda’s movie also unseated the previously record set by his film in 2013 entitled “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy , also an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival.
“A Second Chance” is a sequel of the 2007 film “One More Chance” in which both movies were directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, “A Second Chance” was released in theaters on November 25, 2015.
