The Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo bagged the 2015 Asian Artist of the Year Award from “Hello Asia”. This was revealed on Hello Asia’s website on December 18th.
The voting was made open to the public by “Hello Asia” on the first week of December.
According to Hello Asia, more than 400,000 votes were counted. Of the total, Sarah emerged with the highest number of votes and was thus awarded as the Asian Artist of the Year. And what do you know? Nadine Lustre and James Reid were also runners up in the same category.
“Hello Asia” is an independent Australian source which focuses on Asian Music and Culture for the past two years.
The award from Hello Asia is another addition to the more than 100 awards that Sarah has received in her career, so far. She has garnered awards from almost all of the award giving bodies in the Philippines and started receiving them early on in her career.
The accolades that Sarah received has not been confined to the Philippines. She has also received international nominations and awards for her musical artistry. She won as Best Asian Artist-Philippines at the “2012 MNet Asian Music Awards” (MAMA) which was held in Hong Kong. She was also voted as the Best Southeast Asia Act at the 2014 “MTV EMA” which was hosted in the United Kingdom.
Sarah has gone a long way since she won in “Star for a Night” way back 2003. She has been in the showbiz industry for more than a decade, but her star has not faded. With her dedication and hard work, we think Sarah will stay at the top of her game for a long, long time.
