The 65th annual Miss World pageant was held at the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre in Sanya, China. It was the country’s sixth time hosting this annual event.
The Miss World Organisation revealed the top 10 contestants in the People’s Choice poll. According to the pageant’s website, the participants are from Cameroon, Ecuador, France, India, Lebanon, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Venezuela and Vietnam.
The following made it to the top 10– Ms. Russia, Ms. Philippines, Ms. Guyana, Ms. Lebanon, Ms. Spain, Ms. Indonesia, Ms. Jamaica, Ms. France, Ms. South Africa and Ms. Australia.
Those who made it to the top 5 : Spain, Russia, Indonesia, Lebanon and Jamaica.
The following contestants won the special awards, namely : For the Challenge Event Winners Philippines, Spain, Namibia and Guyana; Philippines got the Multi Media Award, Ms. Vietnam got the Peoples Choice Award, while Indonesia won the Beauty with a Purpose Award.
Megan Young, Miss World 2013; the Welsh actor and TV presenter Tim Vincent; and former MTV VJ Angela Chow hosted the pageant.
The judges for the Miss World 2015 are Julia Morley (Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization), Mike Dixon (Miss World Musical Director), Zhang Zilin (Miss World 2007), Andrew Minarik (Miss World Hair & Beauty team head), Ken Warwick (Emmy award-winning producer), Donna Walsh (professional dancer and director), Linda Petursdottir (Miss World 1998), Agbani Darego (Miss World 2001), Azra Akin (Miss World 2002), and Ksenia Sukhinova (Miss World 2008).
Towards the end of the event, the current Miss World, Rolene Strauss of South Africa, passed on the crown to her new successor Ms. Spain, Mireia Lalaguna. The runner-ups for the 2nd place is Miss Russia, Sofia Nikitchuk and finally the 3rd runner up is Miss Indonesia, Maria Harfanti.
It was another exciting event of the evening where these ladies achieved their dreams in vying for the crown.
