After receiving negative remarks from netizens, Miss Germany Sarah Lorraine Riek has issued an apology to the Filipina beauty queen.
Right after the Coronation Night, Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek was interviewed by Missology and answered negatively about the decision and believed that Miss Colombia should have won. In the beauty pageant blog Missology, Riek claimed that Pia didn’t get the other candidates’ vote. For that reason, she rushed to Miss Colombia after the latter was stripped of the crown when Steve said he made a mistake.
“None of us voted for Miss Philippines, I am so sorry to say that. I really couldn’t believe it; I was so upset. For me, Miss Colombia is the real winner. I am very happy for her because she really deserved it. I’m really not happy with the result and so are the other girls,” she was quoted as saying.

Miss Universe – Germany’s official Facebook Page, before it was taken down, shared Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek’s apology to Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. The post reads that while Riek Lorraine sympathizes with her friend Arevalo, she never meant to insult Wurtzbach.
The statement reads:
“Miss Universe Germany Sarah-Lorraine feels sorry for her colleague and friend Miss Colombia. This must have been the worst nightmare. She never intended to offend Miss Philippines in any way. She feels sorry for both girls. As well for Pia Miss Philippines that she didn’t have her real crowning moment.
She is really sorry if the video suggests anything else than that. It’s an emotional roller coaster what happened yesterday in Las Vegas. She and all the other girls felt so sorry for Colombia at that moment. They could all imagine how this must feel. That’s not the final result moment what you wish for everyone. And also for Pia.
Sarah – Lorraine is very happy a half-German girl brings the crown of course a bit to Germany as well! Congrats to our friends of Philippines for winning the crown after all. She wishes Pia all the best for this year as Miss Universe 2015.”
