ABS-CBN Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz holds the most number of “Box Office King Awards” from his movies specially from those films that he was paired with Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo.
However, it is reported that John LLoyd Cruz become depress and thought about quitting Showbiz after his last year’s movie “The Trial” let him down in Box Office results.
People then say that John Lloyd Cruz’s recent movie “The Second Chance” is literally “His Second Chance” for his career as he almost lose hope of hitting the box office again because of depression.
Recently, John Lloyd Cruz admitted that he once thought about quitting showbiz but denied the allegations that he suffered depression after the results of his movie “The Trial”.
“Hindi iyon (pagkakasabi), you know, after a while, ilang taon na ako sa (showbiz), mahigit kalahati ng buhay ko, nandito na ako sa ABS-CBN, 1997, siyempre, kailangan mong, minsan kasi hindi madaling sumakay sa transition, minsan hindi mo alam kung saan ka na lulugar, minsan hindi mo alam kung saang direksiyon. ‘Yun ‘yung sinasabi ko na ganoong konteksto ko siya nabanggit. Ang career naman namin (mga artista), minsan nariyan ka, minsan wala, ‘di ba? Ang importante, every chance you get, i-enjoy mo and do your best.” John Lloyd said
Right now John Lloyd Cruz feels positive for his first Metro Manila Film Festival Movie “Honor Thy Father”.
“Excited akong mag-participate sa MMFF kasi first time ko na Christmas season na may trabaho, so para maiba, okay din,” John Lloyd Cruz added.
Aside from his first time participation for the MMFF, “Honor Thy Father” is also the First movie John Lloyd Cruz produced. He is a co-producer of Director Erik Matti and DonDon Monteverde.
