GMA Network has closed the deal with Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), a division of Viacom, Inc. for the American format “Lip Sync Battle”, a localized version will start to air here in the Philippines starting February 2016.
The said deal is the fourth Asian deal for the show.
Just recently, in Indonesia, the “Celebrity Lip Sync Battle Indonesia” began airing on Net TV in October. There’s also the “Lip Sync Battle China” that has been sold to Sohu.com Inc. and will air in February 2016, this will also air on Shenzhen TV in China. “Lip Sync Battle Vietnam” by Dong Tay which got the Vietnam rights, will air the show in July 2016.
“Lip Sync Battle’ has received great tremendous interest globally and its appeal has not declined since its U.S. debut. The show is a sure hit format for any broadcaster who are looking to add spice to their line-up of shows, this is according to Mark Whitehead, Executive Vice-President and Managing Director, Asia, VIMN.
Lip Sync Battle in the US is already a huge viral sensation. Each episode features two A-list celebrities like you’ve never seen them before – synching their hearts out in seriously legendary performances, and as they say it “The mic is off, the battle is on!”

According to reports the U.S. version is such a big hit, that the “Lip Sync Battle” US will pick up another 20 episodes of the highly rated critically-acclaimed series, starting 2016.
