Today December 27, 2015 on MMFF 2015 Awarding Night held at Kia Theater in Araneta Center, the director of “Honor Thy Father” Erik Matti was declared as “No Show” and thus he has a message intended for MMFF read by a representative.

According to the first part of the message, Erik demands for better films and more choices in cinemas, while the message is being read, it created some tension to the venue.
The second part of the message is about Erik’s perspectives on MMFF and his grievances towards its new committee, he almost cannot recognize the film festival wherein according to the director of “Honor Thy Father” he is one of the avid fan of Metro Manila Film Festival. In-spite of this message, he is still grateful because he can sees a chance in an opportunity to change.
Meanwhile, when Push Alerts asked Merryl Soriano regarding on the disqualification happened to their film, she did not hesitate to answer directly the question and said “Of course, we are very saddened to the decision of disqualifying us for the Best Picture category, because every participants in MMFF 2015 worked very hard and exerted their biggest effort. We are honored to be here but we are dismayed about the situation.”
On wearing a black t-shirt with a title of their film, Merryl told the Push Alerts Staff what does it symbolizes? “We are a team, we are a family.”
